Women, Pulse Of The Family's Strength, Driver Of The Nation's Progress - Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described women as the pulse of the family's strength, the pillar of society and an important driver of national progress.

In a Facebook post in conjunction with the celebration of International Women's Day today, Anwar said that behind a strong family and a prosperous society, there is the sacrifice, perseverance and wisdom of women who are not tired of pouring out their love for a better future.

“Personally, I greatly appreciate all the sacrifices of women in my own life, especially Azizah and our children who have always been a source of strength, patience and support throughout this journey of struggle.

“Indeed, the same strength also emanates from millions of women across the country, mothers, wives, children, educators, caregivers and community leaders who struggle silently every day for their families and beloved country,” he said.

Anwar also called on the community to come together to appreciate the role and great contributions of women and ensure that this group continues to be respected, empowered and given a fair space to contribute to the country’s progress.

“You are the strength, hope and future of the country,” he said.
