06/03/2026 10:04 PM

ISKANDAR PUTERI, March 6 (Bernama) -- Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) will set up four committees, including a Johor MADANI committee as preperations for the upcoming state election and general election.

Johor PH chairman Aminolhuda Hasan said the three other committees were the Seat Allocation Committee, Issues and Communications Committee and the Federal Ministers’ Coordination Committee, and that the decision was reached at the Johor PH Meeting here today.

“So what we see here is that we have placed committee leaders who are experienced, those who have previously served as state asemblymen, to head the committees that have been established.

“The formation of these committees aims to streamline the party’s operations in facing the upcoming elections,” he said at a press conference after the meeting here today, in the presence of Johor PH Deputy Chairman and Johor DAP Chairman Teo Nie Ching, as well as Johor PKR State Leadership Council Chairman Zaliha Mustafa.

He explained that the Johor MADANI Committee was established to ensure the state moves in line with the Malaysia MADANI concept introduced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, so that policies related to development, the economy, education, and political stability can be delivered and understood more clearly by the people.

Aminolhuda said the committee will be chaired by former Bukit Naning State Assemblyman and Johor PKR State Leadership Council Deputy Chairman Ysahrudin Kusni.

He said through Johor MADANI, the coalition aims to ensure that the government’s development agenda and policies are understood and embraced by the public.

Meanwhile, Aminolhuda said Pakatan Harapan (PH) Johor has proposed that state and general elections be held simultaneously to save government expenditure, while also making it easier for the Election Commission of Malaysia and voters.

“If elections are held twice, all parties involved would have to raise funds and carry out preparations separately, which could disrupt the smooth administration of the government,” he said.

He added that Johor PH, as the opposition bloc, will soon submit the proposal to the Barisan Nasional-led Johor state government through Johor Opposition Leader Andrew Chen Kah Eng.
