PUTRAJAYA, March 6 (Bernama) -- The training modules of the Malaysian Natiohood Academy (AKM) are proposed to incorporate elements related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) to enhance public understanding of the spirit of the Federation, which forms the foundation of the nation’s establishment.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, in a statement today, said that AKM plays an important role in ensuring the country’s stability, particularly in a society made up of diverse racial and religious backgrounds.

He had raised the proposal in his speech at the presentation of letters of appointment to AKM National Fellow, held yesterday in conjunction with the 2026 AKM National Fellow Programme Coordination Meeting.

According to the statement issued by AKM, the establishment of the AKM National Fellows, led by Datuk Prof Emeritus Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman,  brings together individuals who have extensive expertise and experience in various fields, especially related to aspects of nationalism.

They serve as reference experts for AKM in developing training modules and curricula, publishing books, and implementing various other academic and intellectual initiatives.

AKM, as the central agency responsible for implementing and coordinating national and leadership training nationwide, continues to strengthen efforts to instil patriotism, discipline and integrity among the people through a more structured, systematic and focused training approach.

During the meeting, the AKM National Fellows also shared views, ideas and strategic directions to ensure that the implementation of AKM programmes remains relevant and impactful in line with current developments.

The collaboration also emphasised the importance of implementing comprehensive programmes based on the Malaysia MADANI framework, particularly in strengthening national development and community well-being.
