First Meeting Of Fifth Session Of 15th Parliament Adjourns

KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Bernama) -- The First Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament adjourned today after 20 sitting days since Jan 19.

Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul, in his adjournment speech, said the first meeting of the year saw the House pass the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address, five Bills and several motions, including a debate on the Auditor-General’s Report 1/2026.

The Bills passed were the International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation Bill 2025, the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link Bill 2026, the Capitation Grant Bill 2026, the Environmental Quality (Amendment) Bill 2026 and the Supplementary Supply (2025) Bill 2026.

In addition, Johari said three ministerial briefings and two briefings by Select Committee chairpersons on statements tabled were also held during the session.

“At this meeting, we saw the Special Chamber sitting held in the Conference Hall, providing greater comfort to Members of Parliament, officers, visitors and the media,” he said.

The Dewan Rakyat sitting has been adjourned sine die.
