CYBERJAYA, March 3 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is strengthening its commitment to staff wellbeing by establishing the KinderHub@MCMC childcare centre and kindergarten.

The initiative underscores MCMC’s holistic approach, focusing not only on institutional excellence but also recognising that family support is key to a productive, balanced and resilient workforce.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said at the launch that KinderHub@MCMC reflects MCMC’s continued commitment to a more family-friendly workplace, beyond just opening a new facility.

“This marks a significant step in enhancing staff wellbeing. KinderHub is designed to offer quality childcare and early education, helping employees better balance their careers and family responsibilities,” he said today.

Operating since Jan 15 from 7 am to 7 pm, KinderHub@MCMC cares for 76 children aged three months to six years, with a capacity of up to 153.

He hopes the initiative will set an example for other statutory bodies in providing better support for their employees.

“Not every organisation has MCMC’s resources, but I hope the ministry’s secretary-general, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, can share some of these ideas with Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar (Chief Secretary to the Government) in their upcoming meeting.

“If other capable statutory bodies don’t yet have such facilities, they can be invited to see what we’ve done so it can serve as an example,” said Fahmi.

Also present at the launch were Abdul Halim and MCMC chairman Tan Sri Salim Fateh Din.
