JERUSALEM, March 1 (Bernama-WAFA) -- Israeli occupation forces on Saturday prevented worshippers from performing the Isyak and Tarawih prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.
Video footage released by the Jerusalem Governorate showed the mosque compound empty of worshippers on Saturday night. Israeli forces had earlier closed the site in the morning and forced worshippers to leave.
In a related development, the Governorate reported that Israeli forces closed several military checkpoints around Jerusalem and tightened restrictions at the city’s entrances and exits.
The Governorate stated that these measures form part of ongoing restrictions imposed on Palestinian movement in and around the city.
