MRSM Student Among Five Killed In Raub House Fire

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki expressed his condolences over the tragic fire that claimed the lives of five members of a family, including a Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) student, early today.

He said the fire, which destroyed a house in Kampung Pamah Kulat, Raub, claimed the life of Ruby Adira Batrisya Mohd Alawi, who was awaiting her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia results.

“I am deeply saddened by the incident. Losing loved ones so suddenly, especially almost the entire family, is an unimaginable burden.

“God willing, MARA will provide the necessary support and ensure the other family members are well cared for during this difficult time,” he said in a Facebook post.

Ruby Adira Batrisya’s parents, Mohd Alawi Muhammad, 56, and Zaleha Adam @ Ibrahim, 44, as well as her siblings, Ruby Adlina Banin, 14, and Ruby Azyan Barizah, 10, also lost their lives in the tragedy.

Her two other siblings, aged 19 and 15, were not at home during the incident, as they were residing in their respective college and school dormitories.
