UNIFIL: Lebanese Army Deployed To 165 Locations Since Cessation Of Hostilities In South

BEIRUT, Feb 26 (Bernama-QNA) -- The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that the Lebanese Army has deployed to 165 locations in southern Lebanon since the cessation of hostilities in November 2014, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

In a statement, UNIFIL said it continues to support the Lebanese Army in its redeployment in southern Lebanon, noting that its deployment to 165 locations since the ceasefire agreement is an important step towards extending state authority and improving security for communities in the south.

It noted that this progress is based on close coordination on the ground and ongoing efforts to create a more stable environment, in accordance with Resolution 1701.
