KUANTAN, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- A total of 12,466 premises in Pahang were inspected under Ops Pantau of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) from 2023 to 2025, with 102 cases recorded,  totalling RM18,600 in compound fines.

State Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee chairman Sim Chon Siang said the Pahang KPDN has implemented the operation from Feb 19 to March 20 to ensure the stability of supplies and compliance with the prices of goods during the Ramadan month and ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration.

He added that enforcement officers have been placed at strategic locations and popular consumer areas, including supermarkets, markets, night markets, agricultural markets, Ramadan bazaars and online sales premises for comprehensive inspection and monitoring.

"The scope of the inspection focuses on the supply and prices of essential goods such as sugar, chicken, eggs, cooking oil, wheat flour, wet items and ingredients for making cakes.

"The inspection also ensures that each item is displayed with clear price tags, there is no profiteering activity and price-controlled items are sold according to the maximum price gazetted by the government,” he said.

Sim said the Pahang KPDN remains committed to ensuring a fair, ethical and law-abiding business environment while preserving the well-being and interests of consumers throughout the festive period.

In a bid to make the KITA GEMPUR initiative a success, he urged the public to lodge complaints via KPDN's official channels, including the e-aduan portal, toll-free hotline, Ez ADU application, WhatsApp and branch offices statewide.
