Police Investigate Teresa Kok Car Break-in

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- Police are intensifying efforts to track down suspects involved in the smashing of a car window belonging to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok at the parking area of the Bukit Kiara Federal Park here yesterday.

Brickfields deputy district police chief Supt Ahmad Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal said a report on the incident was received at 7.49 pm last night.

He said the incident is believed to have occurred between 6.15 pm and 7 pm while the MP was exercising at the recreational park.

“After completing her exercise, the victim found that the front left door window of her vehicle had been smashed.

“She reported the loss of a handbag containing important documents, a mobile phone and cash, with estimated losses amounting to RM6,500,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Firdaus said the forensic team lifted three fingerprint impressions from the vehicle, which have been sent to the Forensic Biometric Identification System (BIOFIS) at Bukit Aman, adding that the case is being investigated for theft.

He also advised the public to remain vigilant and to avoid leaving valuables inside their vehicles to prevent similar incidents.
