US Dollar Ticks Up

NEW YORK, Feb 20 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The United States (US) dollar increased in late trading on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.23 per cent to 97.922 at 3 pm (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro declined to US$1.1763 from US$1.1788 in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to US$1.3451 from US$1.3503 in the last session.

The US dollar bought 155.09 Japanese yen, higher than 154.79 Japanese yen in the previous session.

The US dollar rose to 0.7759 Swiss francs from 0.7728 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3706 Canadian dollars from 1.3698 Canadian dollars.

The US dollar added to 9.0773 Swedish kronor from 9.0395 Swedish kronor.
