US Dollar Ticks Up

NEW YORK, Feb 19 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The United States (US) dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.56 per cent to 97.702 at 3 pm (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro lost to US$1.1788 from US$1.1845 in the previous session, and the British pound was down to US$1.3503 from US$1.3559 in the last session.

The US dollar bought 154.79 Japanese yen, higher than 153.39 Japanese yen in the previous session.

The US dollar added to 0.7728 Swiss francs from 0.7705 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3698 Canadian dollars from 1.3641 Canadian dollars.

The US dollar climbed to 9.0395 Swedish kronor from 8.9847 Swedish kronor.
