Boy Found Drowned At Tanjung Buloh Beach

KOTA TINGGI, Feb 18  (Bernama) -- An 11-year-old boy drowned while bathing with two friends at Tanjung Buloh Beach yesterday.

Acting Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zone director, Maritime Commander Mohd Najib Sam, in a statement, said the victim, Putra Aniq Fairuz Mohd Faizul, was found at 10.26 pm near the scene after a search operation was launched.

An emergency call was received at 1.30 pm, prompting the activation of a Search and Rescue (CARILAMAT) operation. Two other children were rescued earlier by local fishermen and members of the public.

The victim was confirmed dead at the scene. The operation involved the police, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Health Ministry.

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency advised the public to avoid beach and water activities during bad weather or rough sea conditions.
