PUTRAJAYA, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The national-level Ihya’ Ramadan 1447H/2026M programme was launched today as a symbol of the MADANI Government’s readiness to welcome the holy month of Ramadan in a more organised and comprehensive manner.

Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee said the programme, launched by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan, demonstrated the government’s coordinated commitment in managing Ramadan religious activities at the national level.

He added that the programme, organised by JAKIM in collaboration with 13 agencies under the ministry, is more than an annual event. It reflects the dedication of religious agencies to engage the public with a compassionate approach that resonates on a spiritual level.

“Ramadan is celebrated not only as a month of worship, but also as a time to nurture faith, strengthen values of ihsan, and ensure no one is left out from experiencing its joy,” he said in a statement.

Sirajuddin added that Ops Ihsan 2.0 was also launched, alongside the expansion of the Tabung Haji Adopted School initiative and the distribution of aid to asnaf group.

“Ops Ihsan 2.0 embodies our ongoing commitment to coordinate humanitarian assistance in a more systematic and impactful manner through volunteer mobilisation and aid distribution to those in need throughout Ramadan,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Tabung Haji Adopted School initiative broadens support for Islamic educational institutions and students from asnaf families nationwide, covering welfare, education, and personal development.

Sirajuddin added that various programmes have been planned for this year’s Ramadan, including community iftar events, outreach programmes to engage local communities, distribution of aid to asnaf, and spiritual activities.

“This approach is further extended through television programmes, dedicated radio slots, and digital content on official social media platforms, helping to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Ramadan across all levels of society,” he said.
