KUALA NERUS, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) will hold the Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar (BRR) 2026 at eight selected locations in each parliamentary constituency across the state.

Its director, Mohd Musfi Lat, said the programme aims to encourage bazaar traders to offer Rahmah-priced food to customers, to help ease living costs throughout Ramadan.

He said the initiative also promotes the use of cashless payments, among both traders and consumers at the bazaars.

“As an incentive, selected BRR traders will receive a one-off financial incentive of RM100 in the form of an e-wallet. In addition, RM20 in e-wallet credit will be given to the first 1,200 visitors at each session at selected bazaars, for cashless transactions.

“Each location will involve two e-wallet distribution sessions, and the implementation of the initiative will be carried out through e-wallet operators or providers collaborating with the ministry, under the Retail Digitalisation Initiative (REDI),” he said, after a walkabout session of the MADANI Rahmah Sales programme (PJRM), here, today.

Mohd Musfi said the eight selected locations for the implementation of BRR 2026 are, the Kerteh Ramadan Bazaar in Kemaman (Feb 24 and March 9), Kampung Raja Ramadan Bazaar in Besut (Feb 25 and March 10), Gong Badak Ramadan Bazaar in Kuala Nerus (Feb 26 and March 13), and Binjai Rendah Ramadan Bazaar in Marang (March 1 and 12).

He said the programme will also be held at the Paka Ramadan Bazaar in Dungun (March 2 and 11), Sungai Tarom Ramadan Bazaar in Setiu (March 3 and 7), Kuala Ibai Ramadan Bazaar in Kuala Terengganu (March 5 and 14), and Kuala Berang Ramadan Bazaar in Hulu Terengganu (March 8 and 15).

Meanwhile, he said that more than 100 PJRM locations will be implemented statewide, comprising 51 on-premises and 65 mobile operations, across all eight districts, covering both urban and rural areas.

An estimated 30,000 to 50,000 consumers are expected to benefit from the programme, through the sale of essential goods at prices 10 to 30 per cent lower than current market rates.

He urged the public to take advantage of PJRM Ramadan 2026, by visiting https://pjrm.kpdn.gov.my for information on dates, locations and items offered.

Mohd Musfi added that the public need not worry about price increases for coconut milk and other raw goods during Ramadan, as KPDN continues to monitor and control essential goods prices.

“Our officers will be on the ground to ensure prices do not exceed controlled rates, and KPDN will also implement the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme, to help consumers obtain goods at reasonable prices,” he said.
