Tour Agency Director Claims Trial To Misappropriating RM41,940

SEREMBAN, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- A tour agency director pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court here today to a charge of misappropriating RM41,940 belonging to a man.

Siti Fairuz Omar, 38, was charged with dishonestly misappropriating the money belonging to the 42-year-old victim at a premises in Jalan 2/3 SIGC, Paroi, here, between Sept 7 and Nov 19, 2025.

The charge, framed under Section 403 of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of between six months and five years, whipping and a possible fine upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Nik Nur Aqilah Syarfa Nik Zaidi requested bail of RM6,000, while the accused, who was unrepresented, appealed for it to be reduced to RM1,000, citing loss of income and the need to support her ailing mother.

Magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli allowed bail at RM2,500 with one surety and fixed March 10 for case mention.
