JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- EcoCeres Renewable Fuels, a global producer of sustainable and low-carbon fuels in Johor, is set to position the state within the global supply chain for future fuels.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced that the company has entered its operational phase and has begun shipping sustainable fuels to international markets.
“The presence of EcoCeres in Johor demonstrates the confidence of international investors in the state’s capabilities as a green industry and energy transition hub in Southeast Asia,” he said in a Facebook post.
Onn Hafiz said Johor will continue to position itself as a preferred investment destination as well as a regional hub for high-value technology and industries.
He noted that the company, which is also involved in the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), has generated more than 300 high-quality, premium-wage job opportunities, with 185 of these positions filled by Johoreans, offering salaries ranging from approximately RM3,000 to RM15,000, commensurate with levels of expertise, technical skills and the highly intensive operational technologies employed.
Onn Hafiz added that in addition to job creation, EcoCeres, which is located in Tanjung Langsat, has also provided contributions and strategic partnerships to support Johor’s education development through the Welfare and Education Fund of the Johor Education Foundation (YPJ).
He said the initiative aims to support skills development and continuous training to produce a more competitive and highly skilled local workforce.
