TSG Target Two Podium Finishes, Three Jerseys At Tour Of Sharjah

KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- Continental cycling team Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) are targeting two podium finishes and three jerseys at the Tour of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), scheduled from Jan 23 to 27.

Chief Operating Officer Nasiruddin Wan Idrus said six riders will spearhead TSG’s challenge in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) 2.2-rated race, namely Mohamad Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff, Nur Amirul Fakhruddin, Muhammad and Shahmir Aiman Abd Halim, Adne Van Engelen, Vadim Pronskiy and Pierre Barbier.

He said the riders will compete across five stages, covering a total distance of about 502.96 kilometres.

“Last year, TSG managed to win the third and fourth stages of the same race.

“Therefore, this year we are hoping to achieve even better results by winning three jerseys and securing two podium finishes,” he told Bernama today.

TSG’s line-up this season features 15 riders, including five new signings from Great Britain, Spain, the Netherlands and Australia.
