MITI said in a written reply to the Dewan Rakyat released on the official parliament website today that the investments are expected to generate 185,044 job opportunities.
“The majority of the total, namely 966 projects (or 71 per cent) with approved investments worth RM282.2 billion, have already been realised.
“Meanwhile, 356 manufacturing projects (or 26.2 per cent) are still in the planning stage, involving the location selection process and discussions with developers and consultants,” MITI said in reply to a question from Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin (PN-Lumut) asking how much foreign investments announced since 2022 has actually been realised, and the actual number of high-income job opportunities that have been created.
The ministry said the projects involve approved investments totalling RM60.1 billion and are expected to generate 39,121 job opportunities when realised.
