PUTRAJAYA, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will strengthen its technological capabilities through a collaboration with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) to accredit its officers as certified technology professionals.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the initiative would support efforts to strengthen the national integrity agenda through a holistic approach encompassing enforcement, prevention and education.
He said the commission is placing greater emphasis on governance and integrity supported by modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and digital forensics, to enhance investigations and prosecutions.
“The MACC fully supports efforts to recognise its officers as certified professionals in various technology-related fields, in line with the evolving needs of law enforcement agencies,” he said in a statement today.
Azam said the collaboration would enhance officers’ competency, professionalism and career development, while promoting adherence to professional standards and continuous learning.
He added that it would also facilitate the implementation of training, accreditation and technical skills development programmes, particularly in information and communications technology (ICT), cybersecurity and digital forensics, in response to the challenges of modern crime and corruption challenges.
Earlier today, Azam received a courtesy visit from an MBOT delegation led by its president, Prof Emeritus Datuk Ts. Ir. Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, at the MACC headquarters here.
