KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Kota Bharu police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud has been appointed as the new Cheras police chief, effective today.

The pinning of rank and handover ceremony between Mohd Rosdi and the outgoing Cheras police chief SAC Aidil Bolhassan took place at the Cheras District Police Headquarters (IPD) here today, witnessed by Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus.

In his speech, Fadil expressed confidence in Mohd Rosdi’s ability to lead as the new Cheras police chief, citing his extensive experience and capabilities.

“I am confident that Mohd Rosdi will fully commit to applying all his knowledge and experience to benefit the Cheras police organisation, resulting in positive outcomes,” he said.

Mohd Rosdi, 54, expressed his hope for the cooperation of the Cheras IPD staff, including media personnel, to continue the excellent legacy of previous leadership.

Meanwhile Aidil, who has led the Cheras IPD for the past one year and three months, has been promoted and transferred to Bukit Aman as the principal assistant director of the Department of Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA).

He also extended his gratitude to the entire Cheras IPD team for their cooperation and commitment during his tenure.

“Being a district police chief is not an easy task, it requires patience, firmness, and high commitment. However, I am grateful to have had dedicated officers and personnel working alongside me,” he said.
