Magnitude 6.0 Earthquake Strikes Off Western US Coast

ISTANBUL, Jan 16 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Friday off the coast of the American western state of Oregon, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

The powerful temor occurred at a shallow depth of 7.1 kilometres (km), with the epicentre 299 km west of the city of Bandon.

No tsunami warning was issued and there were no reports of damage or injuries on land.
