Indera Mahkota Bersatu Regrets Saifuddin’s Dismissal Without Fair Hearing

KUANTAN, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- The Indera Mahkota Bersatu Division Committee has expressed regret over the decision by the Bersatu Disciplinary Board to dismiss Indera Mahkota Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, which it described as having been made without a fair hearing.

In this regard, the division deputy chief Mat Zahid Abu Hassan said he hopes the Bersatu Appeals Board will give due consideration to the appeal to be submitted by Saifuddin, and that the process will be carried out fairly, transparently and prudently in the interest of safeguarding the party’s integrity.

He said the stance was unanimously agreed upon at a divisional committee meeting held yesterday.

“The committee expresses its solidarity with Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah and reaffirms its continued support for his leadership,” he said in a statement.

Last Tuesday, Armada (Bersatu Youth) information chief Harris Idaham Rashid was reported to have said that the party had dismissed Saifuddin effective Jan 6.

He also said that Saifuddin had violated Clause 9.1.4 of the party’s constitution, although no details were provided on the specific offence allegedly committed by Indera Mahkota MP.
