Ukraine's Foreign Reserves Rise To Record US$57.29 Bln

KYIV, Jan 8 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Ukraine's international reserves increased by 30.8 per cent last year to reach a record US$57.29 billion as of Jan 1, the National Bank of Ukraine said Wednesday.

"This is the highest figure in the history of independent Ukraine," the bank said in a statement, reported Xinhua.

Last year, the country received the largest amount of international financial assistance since the beginning of the Ukraine crisis, totalling US$52.4 billion, the statement read, noting that the European Union, the World Bank and Canada were the largest sources of assistance.

In addition, Ukraine received over US$3.3 billion in 2025 from the placement of foreign-currency government bonds.

The current level of reserves is sufficient to cover 5.9 months of future imports, according to the central bank.

In 2026, Ukraine expects to receive over US$45 billion in financial support from international partners, the statement added.
