PETALING JAYA, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- The failure-free run (FFR) for the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) train service has yet to commence due to some ongoing issues, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
He said following this, a meeting between Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) and the main contractor will be held next week to decide on the next course of action and to inform the Transport Ministry of when the FFR can be conducted.
He said as of today, there is no fixed date yet for the FFR to commence.
“FFR must be carried out on all trains on the line before commencing the trial operations. As of now, only three (LRT3 train sets have successfully completed the FFR).
“… while we are disappointed about the delay, safety must come first,” he told a press conference on Prasarana’s 2025 performance and 2026 outlook here, today.
Previously, Prasarana confirmed that the LRT3 line could not commence operations last December due to the need to resolve system stability and software issues that were still detected during the testing and commissioning phase.
On another matter, Loke said platform screen doors will be installed at 20 stations this year.
