KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on Tuesday, tracking stronger gains on the US COMEX.
The new spot-month January 2026 contract rose to US$4,469.8 per troy ounce from US$4,447.2 on Monday, February 2026 increased to US$4,486.5 from US$4,463.5 yesterday, while March 2026 jumped to US$4,503.2 from US$4,479.9 previously.
The April, June and August 2026 contracts were also marginally higher, settling at US$4,521.2 per troy ounce compared with US$4,497.9 previously.
Trading volume slid to 149 lots from 328 lots on Monday, while open interest decreased to 214 contracts from 373 contracts previously.
Physical gold was fixed at US$4,436.70 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on Jan 5, 2026.
