Pahang MACC Strengthens Strategic Ties With Judicial Institutions

KUANTAN, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is committed to fostering strong ties with judicial institutions as strategic partners in efforts to prevent corruption and strengthen integrity nationwide.

MACC Pahang Director Mohd Shukor Mahmud said his office held a meeting with Pahang Chief Syariah Judge Datuk Abdul Walid Abu Hassan yesterday to discuss potential strategic cooperation, particularly in the areas of education, exposure and integrity awareness among judicial personnel and the wider public.

“This meeting is expected to pave the way for closer collaboration in the interests of religion, race and the nation,” he said in a media statement today.

Yesterday, Mohd Shukor paid a courtesy call on Abdul Walid at the office of the Pahang Chief Syariah Judge at the Al-Sultan Abdullah Syariah Complex here.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the roles and responsibilities of their respective institutions in upholding justice, the rule of law and integrity values grounded in syariah principles and national legislation.

Meanwhile, Abdul Walid, in the same statement, expressed his appreciation for the visit and welcomed the initiatives undertaken by the Pahang MACC to strengthen a culture of integrity and combat corruption.

He also reaffirmed the Pahang Syariah Judicial Department’s commitment to continued cooperation with enforcement agencies to ensure that the justice delivery system is implemented transparently and effectively.
