JOHOR BAHRU, Dec 29 (Bernama) -- The construction of the new Johor Bahru Court Complex in Iskandar Puteri, costing RM195.4 million, is expected to be fully completed by the end of the first quarter next year.

State Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said the project is 85 per cent complete, with the Public Works Department closely monitoring site works to ensure it stays on schedule.

Built on a 6.8-hectare site next to the Kota Iskandar Mosque, the project began on Feb 8, 2023, to meet Johor’s judicial infrastructure needs.

“Insya-Allah, once completed, this complex will become a new landmark for Kota Iskandar as Johor’s administrative centre,” he said in a Facebook post.

The complex comprises three main components, namely a single-storey multipurpose hall, a five-storey Block A and a three-storey Block B.

It will house 24 courtrooms, administrative offices, a surau, kindergarten and cafeteria, along with 389 car parking spaces and 171 motorcycle bays.
