GUA MUSANG, Dec 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Adeventure Trophy (MAT) Kelantan 2025, a national level 4x4 extreme sports championship, has kicked off in Kelantan today.
MAT Kelantan 2025 operations director Atan Aris said that selecting the Gua Musang district as the championship’s opening venue introduces the public to various ecotourism sites in the state.
“The championship, held from today until Jan 1, includes key locations such as Gua Musang, Gua Ikan (Dabong), Kuala Krai, FMC Kelah Eco Park, and Istana Sangkut, further positioning the state as a leading destination for adventure tourism and extreme sports.
“MAT Kelantan 2025 began with 150 participants, including drivers, support crews, and motorsports enthusiasts from throughout Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.
MAT Kelantan 2025 encourages positive values and is expected to benefit rural communities, small-scale entrepreneurs, local service providers, and the tourism sector during the event, he said, while the competition features three main categories: Adventure, Trophy, and Open.
Each category tests physical endurance, technical driving skills, navigation, and teamwork along challenging forest and river routes.
“The championship emphasises participant safety, ethical driving, and environmental conservation, in line with sustainability principles and responsible off-road practices,” he added.
