KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25 (Bernama) -- Pelaburan Hartanah Bhd (PHB) has appointed Mazuki Abdullah @ Muhammad as its new group managing director, effective Jan 1, 2026.

In a statement today, PHB said Mazuki will replace the current group managing director and chief executive officer, Mohamad Damshal Awang Damit, who will retire upon the completion of his contract on Dec 31.

Mazuki is currently Permodalan Nasional Bhd co-head of the Real Estate Division, where he oversees a diversified domestic real estate portfolio with total assets exceeding RM12 billion.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning real estate, corporate strategy and institutional investment, Mazuki is well positioned to lead PHB into its next phase of growth, the company said.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kent, Canterbury, in the United Kingdom.

During his tenure, Mohamad Damshal delivered a wide-ranging turnaround that strengthened PHB’s operational rigour, significantly enhanced its governance framework and embedded a more disciplined and professional corporate culture, while restoring the group’s financial strength.

Over this period, PHB recorded improvements in revenue and profitability, alongside improved occupancy levels across most of its commercial assets.

PHB said the reforms implemented under his leadership have repositioned the group on a firmer and more sustainable footing, enabling it to pursue growth with greater clarity and resilience towards its 2027 milestones.

The board of directors recorded its strong appreciation to Mohamad Damshal for his leadership and contribution, noting that his stewardship over the past three years had been instrumental in rebuilding PHB’s foundations and positioning the group for its next phase of growth, it added.
