KUANTAN, Dec 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Defence Intelligence Organisation (MDIO) has completed an infrastructure upgrading project in Kampung Jeram Besu, Raub, with an allocation of RM1 million through the MADANI Adopted Village Programme 2025.

It said the project focused on upgrading the Kampung Jeram Besu Mosque and repairing the village's Tabika KEMAS, with all work completed within 14 weeks and fully ready on Dec 9.

The mosque upgrading works included the installation of solar panels, the repair of the main mosque building, garage and the water tank, as well as the acquisition of a new hearse for community use.

“For kindergartens, this involves repairing structures, safety, learning and basic facilities,” according to the statement.

Meanwhile, Pahang Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, in the same statement, said the state government welcomed the implementation of the MADANI Adopted Village Programme in Jeram Besu, which had successfully improved the basic facilities for the local community.

“This effort not only strengthens the well-being of the people but also demonstrates the commitment of the federal and state governments to ensure that rural development continues to be prioritised. I am confident that this project will bring lasting positive changes to the lives of the villagers," he said.

MDIO director-general Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Razali Alias, said the increase in the mosque, kindergarten, and basic infrastructure facilities is in line with the government's mandate to ensure that rural communities enjoy more comfortable, safe and viable amenities.

"We will continue to play an active role in supporting the national development agenda through a 'whole of government' approach, in addition to strengthening relations between the military and civilians," he said.

This year's project in Kampung Jeram Besu is the second after the MADANI Adopted School at Sekolah Kebangsaan Gembut Kota Tinggi, Johor, which involved upgrading facilities and expanding the canteen space for the comfort of over 300 students, teachers and school staff.
