BERLIN, Dec 14 (Bernama-dpa) -- US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, have arrived in Berlin to head a US delegation for talks on a ceasefire in Ukraine, a dpa photographer observed as the two entered a central Berlin hotel on Sunday morning, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
The talks are expected to be held between the US delegation, Ukrainian representatives and representatives of the major European powers. Details on the time were not available.
The initial talks are to take place at adviser level and behind closed doors. Details were not available.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed his attendance in Berlin, and German government spokesman Stefan Kornelius announced on Friday that Zelensky would meet Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Monday.
Witkoff met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the beginning of the month. During the talks, Putin showed readiness for further talks but stressed that Russia had the strategic initiative and would pursue its war aims by force in the absence of an agreement.
