MELAKA, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- A total of 230 complaints involving various issues were received in Bukit Katil during the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme held for the state constituency.
Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, said most of the complaints have been resolved, while the remainder are being coordinated with relevant agencies for further action.
“Among the main complaints received were requests for additional street lighting, particularly in Kampung Bukit Pulau.
“Residents also requested a new bus stop, which will be coordinated with the local authorities, as well as complaints related to citizenship issues, which will be referred to the relevant ministry for further assessment,” he told reporters after the WRUR programme at Melaka Mall today.
Also present was Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Adly said other complaints involved the need to improve infrastructure, including bridge widening and drainage upgrades.
“We need to assess the current needs for each complaint or request. Some issues can be resolved within two weeks, while infrastructure projects requiring new development will be implemented once the budget is approved, as the year-end is approaching,” he said.
The Bukit Katil WRUR programme also featured community activities and participation from several government departments and agencies, including briefings on public services.
“Our aim is not only to provide services but also to understand the community’s needs and ensure that every issue raised receives proper attention,” Adly said.
