Founder of 4Leaf Nursery, Yap Jing Zong, 25, said the secret to healthy crops lies not only in fertiliser, water and environmental conditions but also in the soil structure.
Jing Zong cultivated vegetables, fruits and herbs, thrived on compost he made entirely from the food scraps generated by his household
Yap would arrive at the garden by 7 am before heading to his 9 am classes
Compost contains food waste from fruit peels and vegetables
Yap also sells his organic compost to the surrounding community and to corporate companies at reasonable prices
