KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Reinsurance Bhd (Malaysian Re) has secured two major accolades at the Insurance Asia Awards 2025 in Singapore, reinforcing its strong standing in the ASEAN reinsurance landscape.

In a statement today, Malaysian Re said it was conferred the Editor’s Choice: Asian Reinsurance Excellence Award for Outstanding Growth, as well as Training and Development Initiative of the Year-Malaysia.

The MNRB Holdings Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary said the prestigious awards was a testament to its exceptional performance, marked by a record gross written premiums or contribution of RM2.5 billion for the financial year ended 2024.

It said the achievement cements Malaysian Re’s position among the top ASEAN reinsurers.

“The recognition also highlights the success of its strategic business remodelling initiative launched in 2021, which focused on diversification and enhanced resilience to natural catastrophes exposures.

“Malaysian Re’s solid financial strength -- consistently affirmed by leading credit rating agencies -- was also another contributing factor in this prestigious recognition,” it added.

Malaysian Re president and chief executive officer Ahmad Noor Azhari Abdul Manaf said the awards were a reflection of the resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment of the Malaysian Re team.

“We are honoured by the recognition and inspired to build upon this momentum, as we continue our journey of growth alongside our partners, clients, peers and the broader industry.
