KUANTAN, July 10 (Bernama) -- The Aspirasi Pahang 1st is a vision aimed at positioning the state as a leader on the east coast, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
He said the aspiration, anchored on visionary leadership and the unity of the people, would enable Pahang to lead in areas such as development, governance, environmental sustainability, as well as the preservation of values, culture and religion.
“From the start of this administration, we have emphasised that Aspirasi Pahang 1st is not merely a slogan, but the state’s policy across all sectors. It is a vision and ambition, a spirit and an agenda,” he said at the launch of Aspirasi Pahang 1st at the SUKPA Indoor Stadium here today.
According to Wan Rosdy, the concept also serves as a benchmark for the state government in placing competitiveness and innovation at the heart of Pahang’s development agenda.
He said major projects such as the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and the Halal Industrial Park reflect the state’s commitment to creating high-value job opportunities and positioning Pahang as a new hub for economic growth and Industry 4.0.
“The state government has also drawn up the Pahang Economic Transformation Master Plan 2025-2030 (PET30) as a strategic measure to reshape the state’s economic landscape.
“It is projected to increase the state’s revenue to RM2 billion within the next five to 10 years,” he said.
Wan Rosdy also noted that the aspiration aims to strengthen the state’s identity through religion, heritage and national values, which serve as the foundation for sustainable development.
“As we face this new era, let Pahang be a model of a state that is progressive yet rooted, modern but courteous, and advanced while upholding strong moral values. This is the identity of Pahang 1st,” he said.
To nurture future leaders with strong character, Wan Rosdy announced the establishment of the Pahang 1st Academy, a platform to develop knowledgeable, disciplined and integrity-driven individuals with leadership qualities and a deep love for the state.
“This academy will groom grassroots leaders of tomorrow, including youths, university students and young civil servants, through strategic modules covering patriotism, leadership, critical thinking, communication and state diplomacy skills,” he said.
