Mohd Na'im: Malaysia Has Potential To Become Global Islamic Knowledge Hub

11/07/2025 12:21 AM

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has the potential to position itself as an international hub for Islamic knowledge by embracing a moderate, progressive, and inclusive approach, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

In a post on X, he described the contribution of 235 volumes of the Hui Muslim Canon by the Chinese delegation as a significant step towards preserving and promoting Islamic scholarly heritage on the global stage.

The delegation was led by Ma Zhijun, vice-chairman of the China Cuisine Association.

Mohd Na’im said the collection of Islamic scholarly works, authored by Hui Muslim scholars over more than a thousand years, not only enriches Malaysia’s intellectual heritage but also acts as a bridge linking the Eastern Islamic world with the Malay world.

“This initiative reflects the spirit of Islam as a ‘rahmah’ (mercy) to all, celebrating cultural diversity, fostering brotherhood, and strengthening universal unity,” he said.
