MELAKA, July 10 (Bernama) -- The Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2025 convoy will travel to three districts in Melaka over two days, starting July 30, to spark the patriotic spirit in the lead-up to the National Day celebration.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communication Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan said Melaka will receive the Jalur Gemilang from Johor on that day in Jasin, before the 68-vehicle convoy proceeds to Melaka Tengah.

“From Melaka Tengah, the convoy, which is expected to be joined by around 100 participants, will continue to Alor Gajah, where flags will be distributed to the public to enliven this year’s National Month celebration,” he said after chairing the KMJG 2025 Melaka-level working committee coordination meeting.

The meeting, held at the Melaka Information Department (JaPen) office here today, was also attended by its director Ab Rasil Hajatil.

Meanwhile, Fairul Nizam said on the second day, the convoy, comprising various government agencies and community members from across the state will begin their journey from Alor Gajah to hand over the Jalur Gemilang to the Negeri Sembilan KMJG 2025 convoy leader in Rembau.

“Even though the convoy will only be in Melaka for two days, what’s more important is our spirit as Malaysians in making this year’s National Month celebration a vibrant one.

“I hope the people of Melaka will come out to welcome and celebrate the convoy along the routes which will be finalised and announced in detail soon,” he said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the launch and flag-off of the KMJG 2025 at Dataran Tanjung Emas in Muar, Johor on July 27.

The annual convoy, organised by the Ministry of Communications with JaPen as the coordinator, will travel across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan as part of the government’s initiative to ignite the spirit of the National Month celebration.
