PUTRAJAYA, July 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's National Unity Ministry (KPN) and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission (NEAC) of China are exploring the potential for strategic cooperation in various areas related to strengthening social unity.

In a statement, KPN said among the key initiatives being discussed is the joint development of a training module for community mediators, drawing on China’s experience through the implementation of the Mediator Law and innovative approaches such as the Internet Court System.

KPN said the matter was highlighted during a dinner hosted by the ministry for the visiting NEAC delegation here last night, which was also attended by National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang and NEAC Deputy Minister Duan Yijun.

The event was held to express KPN’s appreciation for NEAC’s commitment to promoting national unity and harmony, as well as to serve as an important platform to strengthen bilateral ties between Malaysia and China, particularly in ethnic governance, social harmony and cultural integration.

In addition, both parties also proposed the establishment of a regional platform, such as the ASEAN-China Grassroots Social Cohesion Forum, to serve as a channel for sharing best practices in strengthening grassroots-level social cohesion, according to the statement.

KPN and NEAC also discussed the development of an artificial intelligence-based system to detect micro-conflict patterns within communities, which would enhance proactive prevention efforts against unity-related challenges.

“Planned cooperation also includes the implementation of digital heritage preservation projects using immersive technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and holography,” the ministry said.

KPN expressed hope that its bilateral relations with NEAC will continue to be strengthened in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision, which emphasises the values of unity, inclusivity and respect for cultural and ethnic diversity in society.
