KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- The story of Madiah Awang, a single mother who has been struggling to raise six children on an income of just RM900 a month working as a school and factory canteen cook in Kuantan, Pahang, captured the attention and prompted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to offer an assistance.

The aid was delivered by the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, during a Ziarah MADANI outreach visit to Kampung Tebing Tinggi, Balok, in Kuantan today.

“Despite living in a house with a cracked kitchen and a rotting front floor, she still greeted us with a smile and even asked that we prioritise those who are worse off than her.

“No complaints. No bitterness. Only a determination to live with dignity and raise her children with love,” Ahmad Farhan wrote in a Facebook post.

Ahmad Farhan said that in addition to delivering the Prime Minister’s donation, the visit taught him a profound lesson in strength and sincerity through Madiah’s quiet resilience.

“May Allah ease the affairs of Madam Madiah and her children, and open wider doors of sustenance for them, Insya-Allah,” he added.
