KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- Western Union has appointed Vince Tallent as its new Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific (APAC), as the company seeks to accelerate its growth across the region’s digital, retail and financial services ecosystem.
In a statement, Western Union said Tallent brings extensive experience from the fintech and telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) sectors, with a strong track record in expanding international businesses and introducing innovative financial solutions.
“Vince's leadership and diverse experience in scaling technology-driven financial services will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our position in APAC,” said Western Union President for Europe, Middle East, Africa and APAC, Giovanni Angelini.
Meanwhile, commenting on his appointment, Tallent said he is delighted to join Western Union at such a pivotal time for the company.
“This is an exciting opportunity to further build on Western Union’s growth in the region by delivering customer-centric and accessible financial solutions,” he added.
Tallent previously served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of tiqmo, a Saudi-based fintech app serving the Middle East and North Africa. He initially joined the company as Group Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer before assuming the CEO role in 2022.
He has also held senior leadership roles in prominent fintech and TMT companies across APAC, the Middle East and Europe, where he led transformational strategies to drive business growth and innovation.
Tallent holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Advanced Finance and Corporate Strategy from Kingston University, London, where he was also awarded an honorary doctorate for his outstanding contributions to business, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
