JAKARTA, May 22 (Bernama) -- ASEAN secretary-general Dr Kao Kim Hourn will lead the ASEAN Secretariat delegation to the 46th ASEAN Summit, the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit in Kuala Lumpur next week, the secretariat said Thursday.

The high-level meetings, scheduled for May 26-27, will be held under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability,” at the invitation of Prime Minister and ASEAN Chair for 2025, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Ahead of the summits, Kao will also take part in a series of ministerial meetings on May 25, including the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, the 29th ASEAN Political-Security Community Council, the 25th ASEAN Economic Community Council, and the 36th ASEAN Coordinating Council.

The gatherings will also include ASEAN Leaders’ interfaces with representatives from the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, ASEAN Youth, and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council.

“Kao is expected to hold bilateral meetings with high-level dignitaries from ASEAN, ASEAN’s external partners as well as from international organisations to exchange views on enhancing existing cooperation, exploring new areas for collaboration and advancing ASEAN Community-building efforts,” the secretariat added.

The meetings come as the regional bloc advances its ASEAN Community Vision 2045, aimed at guiding ASEAN’s integration efforts over the next two decades.
