FRU Truck Crash: Lorry Driver Rearrested Over Missing Cattle Case

IPOH, May 19 (Bernama) -- The lorry driver charged with dangerous driving in an accident where nine Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel were killed was rearrested today in connection with a cattle theft case, shortly after he was released on bail.

The accused employer posted the RM6,000 bail set by the court on Friday.

Bagan Datuk police chief Supt Mohammad Ali Mohd Jali said the 45-year-old man was arrested again at 12.20 pm in the Teluk Intan Court compound.

“Police made the arrest following a report lodged on April 14, 2025, by a local man regarding the disappearance of two cows in Kampung Sungai Keli Hutan Melintang.

“The suspect is being held at the Bagan Datuk District Police Headquarters lock-up for further investigation. This is a standard procedure after we received the report on the missing cattle,” he told Bernama when contacted today.

He said the suspect will be brought to the Teluk Intan Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for a remand order.

“The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to seven years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both,” he added.
