KUALA BERANG, May 14 (Bernama) -- Trengganu enforcement officers of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized two lorries and 477 canisters of subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)  worth RM65,676.20 in Ops Gasak 2025 in Ajil, here yesterday.

Its director, Mohd Mufsi Lat, said the raid was conducted by four KPDN enforcement officers at about 12.30 pm following intelligence gathered over two weeks.

He said a man in his 40s, who claimed to be the owner of the LPG canisters, was arrested to assist in the investigation.

"Based on preliminary investigation, the man claimed he obtained the LPG supplies from suppliers in and outside Terengganu, which he then sold to operators of restaurants, laundromats and hotels around Kuala Berang.

"Further investigation found that the man failed to produce any license, permit or letter of permission to do so,” he said in a statement today.

The case is investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Meanwhile, Mohd Mufsi advised the public with information regarding any fraudulent and suspicious trade activities to channel their complaints via the WhatsApp application at 019-8488000 or the KPDN complaints portal, https://eaduan.kpdn.gov.my.
