KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- The MYFutureJobs Mega Career Carnival held in conjunction with 2025 Labour Day celebration here has successfully attracted more than 3,000 visitors and job seekers since it opened on Monday.
Social Security Organisation (Socso) event management unit case manager, Fadlina Adam estimated that the number of visitors to the carnival could reach up to 5,000 people, at the end of the event this Saturday.
"A total of 10,000 job opportunities are offered to visitors, especially university graduates and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates over four days.
"This carnival is a sub-programme under the Labour Day Celebration Programme organised by the Ministry of Human Resources. It is an initiative of Socso as a support system for job seekers in finding job opportunities, in addition to opening up better job opportunities for others,” she told Bernama.
Apart from the Mega Career Carnival, the national level Labour Day celebration currently taking place at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, will also see the official launch of the mobile version of the MYFutureJobs application.
The celebration themed 'Pekerja Kesuma Bangsa' is scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow.
Meanwhile, among the carnival visitors interviewed, T. Kogilavani, 25, said he attended the carnival with his family members to explore the job opportunities on offer.
"As a Law Enforcement Degree graduate, I am looking for a job that interests me and is in line with what I have studied," he said, who currently works part-time as a clinic assistant in Seremban.
In addition, Farah Atiqah Zainal Rashid, 24, a graduate of Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) said this was her first time visiting such an expo.
"I hope this expo can give valuable hope to graduates like me and others," she said.
