Sumang Unveils Refined Matcha Grading System

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- Clean Jeju Green Tea Cooperative 'Sumang' has introduced a more refined grading system for its matcha products, a strategic move to diversify its premium tea portfolio and offer consumers a broader choice tailored to their specific needs.

In a statement, Sumang said the cooperative now categorises its matcha into three distinct grades—Ceremonial, Premium, and Superior—allowing consumers to select products based on taste and intended purpose.

Based on Jeju Island, Sumang operates a comprehensive one-stop system for the production, manufacturing, and sale of its organic green tea.

The cooperative maintains consistently high quality in the flavour and aroma of its matcha, thanks to a dedicated tencha production line.

Sumang's established production system ensures an exceptional taste and aroma that distinguishes its matcha in the market. Moving forward, the cooperative plans to expand its distribution network to make its premium-quality tea more accessible to a wider audience at a more reasonable price.

In a shift from its traditional reliance on business-to-business (B2B) transactions, Sumang is also actively broadening its market reach. This involves strengthening its direct-to-consumer sales channels through its proprietary online mall and various e-commerce platforms.
