KIS Group And Shell Sign bio-lNG Supply Deal

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- Knowledge Integration Services (KIS Group) has signed a bio liquefied natural gas (bio-LNG) supply agreement with Shell Eastern Trading (Pte) Ltd.

The agreement entails KIS to provide bio-LNG to Shell starting in 2027 for regasification and distribution to customers in Singapore.

KIS, a global biomethane and clean energy solutions provider, said in a statement today that the agreement marks the first phase of a strategic framework to meet rising demand for methane capture and renewable natural gas (RNG).

Its founder and chief executive officer, K. R. Raghunath, said the collaboration is expected to meet the decarbonisation needs of customers in Singapore.

"We are looking forward to building on this to further strengthen our collaboration," he said.

Meanwhile, Shell Energy Asia general manager of new business development, Aditya Gupta, said that by utilising their combined expertise, they are assisting Singapore and the region in achieving their climate goals.

"This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to delivering more and cleaner energy solutions to support our customers in their energy transition journey," he said.

Bio-LNG, a renewable energy derived from organic waste, provides a cleaner LNG alternative that lowers emissions.
