Uni Enrol Signs Investment Partnership To Expand Global Reach

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- Uni Enrol, Malaysia’s largest online student enrolment platform, has entered into a strategic investment partnership with Global Education Alliance (GEA) to strengthen its position as a regional hub for higher education access.

In a statement, Uni Enrol said the partnership with the leading global education group marks a significant milestone in advancing Malaysia’s role as a premier study destination for students across the Asia Pacific and beyond.

The signing ceremony between the two parties, which was held yesterday, was officiated by Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai cum Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

“This partnership is set to expand Uni Enrol’s platform capabilities to support both Malaysian and international students in exploring higher education opportunities, whether for full-degree programmes in Malaysia or transnational pathways to top study destinations like the United Kingdom (UK), Australia, New Zealand and Ireland,” according to the statement.

The statement also revealed that under the partnership, all institutions within GEA’s network will be integrated into Uni Enrol’s online platform, creating a seamless bridge between GEA’s extensive offline recruitment presence and Uni Enrol’s 24/7 online accessibility.

This integration is expected to significantly improve conversion rates, speed of response, and service levels across the region.

“Importantly, this collaboration is expected to attract more inbound students to Malaysia, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading global education destination. This aligns with the Malaysian government's goal to attract 250,000 international students this year, a vision that supports the creation of a more diverse and dynamic academic environment.

“The resulting increase in local and international talent will further enrich Malaysia’s higher education landscape and contribute to a broader, highly skilled graduate pool that sees Malaysia as home, whether past or present,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Uni Enrol’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Rickson Khaw said the partnership enables them to bring Malaysian institutions to the global stage and make world-class education more accessible and transparent.

“It’s not just about reach, it’s about creating real pathways, powered by data and digital infrastructure that meet students where they are,” he said.

\GEA’s CEO Freeman Yeung, on the other hand, highlighted the collaboration as part of its mission to bridge opportunities for students worldwide, offering an unique gateway to access world-class education at a fraction of the cost.

“Malaysia offers an ideal blend of affordability, high-quality education, and cultural richness. Together, we aim to create transformative experiences for students while contributing to the growth of Malaysia’s education sector. We are excited to see how this collaboration shapes the future of global education,” he said.

As part of the event, Uni Enrol also launched the Lembah Pantai Scholarship 2025 in collaboration with leading Malaysian private institutions.

The initiative will award 17 full scholarships to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2024 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) and Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK) schools within the Lembah Pantai constituency.

Eligible students include those from households with an annual income of below RM8,000 or who have represented their state or nation in sports.
