MOSCOW, May 15 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The French navy seized more than 3.3 tonnes of cocaine from an unflagged vessel in the Atlantic, French Defence Minister Catherine Vautrin said, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported.
“The French navy successfully carried out an operation in the Atlantic to combat drug trafficking, during which 3,366 kilograms of drugs were seized from an unflagged vessel carrying several dozen bales of cocaine,” Vautrin said on X on Thursday.
France carried out the operation jointly with its partners. As a result of the operation, judicial authorities in Fort-de-France, Martinique, a French overseas territory, took seven people into custody, the minister added.
