First Tarawih Prayer Of Holy Month: Spiritual Atmosphere, Integrated Services At Grand Mosque

18/02/2026 11:16 AM

MAKKAH, Feb 18 (Bernama-- SPA) -- Worshippers performed the Isha prayer and the first Tarawih prayer of Ramadan this evening at the Grand Mosque, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The scene reflected the holy month’s spirituality and its place in Muslims’ hearts. An integrated set of services and organisational measures helped provide a safe, smooth worship environment for visitors.

Large numbers of worshippers and Umrah performers flocked to the Grand Mosque on the first night of the month. They performed Tarawih prayers in an atmosphere marked by calm and orderly movement.

Field follow-up helped keep traffic flowing across the mosque and its courtyards. The effort supported smooth entry and exit, organised the walkways and guided worshippers to prayer areas, easing the performance of rituals.

The efforts included operating the mobility system inside the Grand Mosque and regulating the movement of carts. Dedicated routes were set for older people and persons with disabilities, in line with their needs.

The measures reflect the Kingdom’s leadership’s care for the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors and its keenness to provide a complete spiritual environment during Ramadan. They also reflect integrated organisational and service roles aimed at enhancing Umrah performers’ worship from the holy month’s first Tarawih prayer.
